Old Town Temecula...

It has been ages since we've strolled the streets of Old Town Temecula. Who knew Sundays are when the town HOPS! Wow.

There were tons of people and even a cool car show, of sorts.

I loved this TripAdvisor review by Bigpetesol from Texas, Australia who wrote, "Wonderful streets full of funky bars, eclectic stores, antiques and more. We ventured down on to Temecula on a Sunday and easily spent the afternoon wandering the myriad of stalls and shops. We had a drink in one of the roadside bars, watched the constant parade of Harleys and hot rods and strolled through shops - the place is great and we even found somewhere that served decent coffee... Free parking is also a real plus."

We did a little history walk as well. Originally the First National Bank, this historic building was built in 1912 by Eli Barnett. It was locally owned and known as the “PAWN SHOP” by its rancher directors. The Bank was robbed on August 13, 1930. The robber was promptly captured by townspeople and the loot recovered in full. The bank’s doors remained open during the depression and was eventually closed in 1941. For many years the second floor served as the community center and dance hall. For as long as we have lived here it has been a Mexican Restaurant.
Stores and restaurants exploded into the outdoors. It felt like a pre-Covid Summer.

Have you ever found a t-shirt that was right on? I appreciate this sentiment... "What A Long Strange Trip It's Been".
Colorful murals were placed about, adding color and encouragement throughout town.
I had to laugh at this sign, "Miss Disneyland? Looks like you need a Pineapple Dole Whip?" That so is not going to help my Disney withdrawal but it did make me smile.
Our last pause was for Gelato at the new(ish) Bottega Italia. It did remind us of Italy which was a welcomed treat.

Bigpetesol was right, the place is great! We will be back, though most likely not on a busy Sunday. It was great to see Old Town so alive but for me the crowds were just too much. Another time...
