K & T Get Married...

Less than two months ago, atop Mount Tallac, our son proposed to his girlfriend of two years. She accepted. When they were looking at dates for the wedding, it got somewhat complicated because Steve and I have a huge amount of travel happening. What they came up with was extraordinary. Since everyone was going to be here to celebrate our granddaughter's first birthday anyway, why not just have it now! To quote the movie, When Harry Met Sally "...when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."

K & T wanted the exchanging of vows to be a family only event- simple and meaningful. Fourteen and one half people gathered under the pine trees in our backyard to witness the union. It was pretty magical and quite emotional. The words they chose for their vows had us parents openly weeping.
T's Uncle Ralph officiated. What a wonderful choice.

Brothers!
This is T's family. Her dad, Willis, Aunt Carol, Uncle Ralph and her mom, Suellen. This was the first time Willis had ever worn a tux and he rocked it.
The Haerrs were there in full force! It was incredible to have so much family share in the special moment.
And what a happy Mom I am with my two sons married to such amazing women.

There was a whole lot of father pride happening, too.
Steve's oldest brother was there with his sons. It had been about 20 years since he had been in Tahoe. What an ideal reason to return.
K & T did this wedding all on their own. While there was a support team, to help with the minor details, all the planning and cooking was all done by them. T even made her own, sumptuous cake. It all was really amazing.
After dinner, everyone strolled to the Lake for the Labor Day fireworks extravaganza- a perfect end to a very perfect day.
