Opening Valhalla for the Season...
I awoke to a snow-covered Tahoe, the perfect day to spend indoors, cleaning! Today's was the opening of Valhalla. This home on the Lake, was built in 1924 in Romanesque style of log and shingle. It is the location of festivals, art, music and film... all summer long.
Jenny and I systematically disassembled an overly cluttered tin-lined (thus mouse proof) closet and took all the unwanted items to The Attic for a donation. Our only regret was we didn't take 'before and after' photos. We did an amazing job.
Shutters were removed and put away, windows were cleaned, excitement for the upcoming season was elevated. As a reward, the fireplace provided the ideal picnic spot.
Yesterday, I read in the glorious sunshine and while today was a reminder of winter, summer is on its way. Valhalla and I are ready.
