My Favorite Estate Sale
Often when I go to Estate Sales I feel a connection to the person and I leave with a knowledge of what his/her life must have been like. That was never more true than after the sale of Marianne Andreazza's treasures.
The incredibly talented, and uber organized artist had an studio/craft room that I have described as being my personal vision of Heaven. It was certainly more well stocked and organized than any small craft store I have visited. I truly was in heaven.
I had to discover more about this woman who I know, if we had met, would have been a friend. "Marianne first picked up a brush in 1996 by taking a 4-week tole-painting class. She quickly learned to love painting and expanded her horizons with many techniques. She grew to love teaching and taught a wide range of skill levels and venues… from beginners in retail outlets to advanced painters at conventions and workshops." I wish I had known. I would have loved taking a class from her at our local Hobby Lobby.
The photos do not do this magical place justice.
Oh the first day of the sale, we had limited time to spend, sadly. What I instantly determined was that I had to have the CREATE valance above her desk. Each letter, painted with cheerful hues and designs, was a masterpiece in and of itself.
When I asked its cost ($10), I yelled "SOLD!". It now adorns the wall above my very untidy desk. Marianne would be appalled at my lack of organization. However, I think she would appreciate the inspiration I glean from it each time I admire it.

This tribute was written online about Marianne, nine weeks ago, "Our Painting community lost a dear friend yesterday. I am so saddened to learn that Marianne was taken from us so soon (she was only 69). Her infectious laugh, beautiful smile, and insanely creative mind will be sorely missed…she is missed already. Rest well, Marianne Andreazza." Even though we never met, I miss her, too. Many of the possessions she loved are being loved by me and my grandchildren. I will not forget this Estate Sale or the women for whom it was held. Wow.
