Firegal Wisdom...

Our scheduled speaker, for today's Friends of the Library program, had to cancel due to an injury and she thoughtfully sent a replacement, her friend, Gina Geldbach-Hall.

Gina shared her story of being one of the first female firefighters in Las Vegas. It was a tale of prejudice and struggles while advocating for women as a pioneer in the field. I loved her quote, "The first thing you have to do is learn to Stop, Drop and Roll with the punches."
The audience was on the edge of their seats as Gina told firehouse tales and lessons learned. We were empowered and entertained. I was completely impressed by her positive attitude and great sense of purpose. Steve even commented that she was one of the best public speakers he has ever heard.
I can not wait to read the entire story. I am already spellbound just by the small snippet shared today!
