Our Father's Day in Lake Tahoe
After a 2 AM wake up, followed by a 4:35 AM departure, we drove the 474 miles to arrive at our cabin at 2:30 PM (10 hours later). We checked that all was well, unloaded both our vehicles and then headed out for a fabulous Father's Day Concert on the Lawn. When we moved here 13 years ago, we found ourselves in this exact same spot, celebrating Father's Day, obviously, but also the fact that we now lived in Lake Tahoe. How fun to have the same occasions to celebrate yet again.
What an opportunity to catch up with old friends. The audience was comprised of some of our favorite locals. We were giddy!
The Lake was beautifully clear and welcoming. Oh my gosh WE ARE HERE!
And let's not forget the music. The Bread and Butter Band was able to enthrall the largest crowd we have seen at one of these events ever. If people weren't standing up dancing, they were found boogieing in their beach chairs. What a total kick-off to our Sierra Summer.
What an idyllic and historic location for families to spend Father's Day. Children frolicked, parents listened, and everyone enjoyed!
