You Learn by Living: Eleven Keys for a More Fulfilling Life by Eleanor Roosevelt isn't probably what most people would call fun summer reading.  For me however, this was the perfect literature with which to be lake side.

I have always had a fondness for the wife of our 32nd President.  How can you not love a woman who said, “You wouldn't worry so much about what others think of you if you realized how seldom they do"?  These eleven keys are just as poignant today, 53 years after this book was written.  Common sense and a clear perspective are Mrs. Roosevelt's tools and I took so much away from this reading. “Life is what you make it. Always has been, always will be.”
