McAvoy Layne said it best after receiving the photos from the night, "I
never had so much fun in a library...thank you. And
thanks for the proof. Again,
thanks to everybody there at the South Shore Library for the toast. It
warmed my heart and it is warm yet..."

I love that Jessie was not only willing to come in costume, but that she made this amazing outfit herself. Samuel Clemens was impressed, as were we all. |
|
Mark Twain said, "Good friends, good books. This is the ideal life." |
|
Kim, Kae and John, all wonderful writers just hanging out in the library- fun stuff. |
|
Finding a caterer is a difficult task but we really scored when we discovered Diane Wilkinson Catering. The food was not only beautiful and delicious, but extremely plentiful. I highly recommend Diane and her staff. Exceptional service and quality. |

McAvoy, as Twain, spoke eloquently and then mingled with the guests. |

Mr. Twain with our librarian, Katharine, and the President of the Friends of the Library, Kay. |

This is the incredible team that made the night, the Friends of the Library's first venture of this kind, the huge success that it was. What an opportunity for us and what an outpouring of support from the community. I can't wait to see what happens next. |

If I could go back in time Mark Twain would be one of the people I would like to meet. If this website is correct, he traveled to over 35 countries in his life time (more than 35 because he went to Nicragua which is not listed). http://islandreadersandwriters.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Countries-Visited.pdf
Who doesn't love Mark Twain?!
