Recently something has happened that left me angry. So angry/disappointed, I wrote a post venting. After publishing it, I went back to reading my book (thank goodness).
I purchased this unique self-help book back at the South Lake Tahoe Library's Authors' Showcase in June. I hadn't started it until today. Talk about perfect timing. This paragraph spoke to me, "It is not a bad thing to feel anger, frustration, or resentment. These negative emotional states are natural for all human beings. The key to preventing them from becoming damaging is how often and how long you entertain them. Consistent anger, frustration, or resentment can be detrimental to living your best life. They can embitter you, placing a salty veil of negativity over everything in your life. It's time to lift the veil."Anger is my least favorite emotion and I had been experiencing it for the last week. I just couldn't shake it until stumbling upon that one, perfectly timed, paragraph of reason. I am so much better for having read it and I no longer need to vent.
"A moment of patience in a moment of anger prevents a thousand moments of regret." -Ali Ibn Abi Talib
