Back To Nature...

After being sidelined for almost two weeks, I was in desperate need of Vitamin N (Nature). Since moving to Tahoe, Vitamin N has been our favorite, most effective health supplement. How wonderful to have Karen join me on a most needed outing.
Our favorite, in town place to stroll is Cove East, a California Conservancy restoration project area with habitats galore. The hiking path into the cove meanders through meadows filled with wildflowers and a 360-degree view of the surrounding mountains.

“Take the time to observe the simple
and ponder upon the seemingly insignificant.
You’ll find a wealth of depth and beauty.”
― Melanie Charlene

I love this photo. I hadn't seen the dragonfly on the frog's nose until I got home and uploaded the image to my laptop. How fun.

Karen says our walks are not exercise, and she is totally right. I think I live by Michael Bassey Johnson's belief, “You can only appreciate nature by feeling and seeing it with the heart and the eyes of a child.” I have to stop and look at everything, much like a child would do. She's come to expect a leisurely pace with each venture into nature we take together. It's very comforting to have a patient friend. Today was a very good day.

  1. I love the dragonfly surprise photo. so funny (and the closeup red one is beautiful!) The maroon bird is a White-Faced Ibis. I think the mom and babies are mallard. Vitamin N is the best!
