Meditation & Mail...

After a day of domestic chores, we headed to the local branch of the Charleston Public Library.

We love to go to events at libraries and our curiosity was piqued with tonight's Transcendental Meditation lecture. We learned a great deal from the certified TM teachers who shared with us the history of and practical benefits of practicing TM. Hugh Jackman said of it, "Nothing has ever opened my eyes like Transcendental Meditation has. It makes me calm and happy and it gives me peace and quiet in what’s a pretty chaotic life!"
While at the library, we viewed the exhibit displayed throughout- Correspondence Art: School Swap. I love mail so an exhibit that  features student-created mail art had me on so many levels. This display was inspired by the Halsey's artist-in-residence Bob Ray. Over 100 students visited the Halsey for a guided tour and meeting with Ray, where they learned about and had the opportunity to create their own correspondence/mail art. This project is part of the Halsey's Looking to See program, which provides educational outreach to school programs and community organizations.

Yes, there is always something happening in Charleston. We ♥ it here!
