A Tale of Two Lakes...

There is something special about gathering friends and heading out for a hike. One of the more apropos quotes for Tahoe is, "Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt."

What better path to take than to the beautiful Angora Lakes area... a first for David, Karen and Steve.

The Angora Lakes Resort, started and still operated by the Hildinger Family, has been here since 1917. We delighted in hiking to history!
There is a quaintness here that I just love.

Famous for their lemonade and perfect for a picnic, we savored the respite and the view.

Upon returning from our hike, Bob and Jenny boated us to Emerald Bay. What an opportunity to share Fannette Island with David and Karen. Oh, what a happy place.
For those who don't know, this Tea House, atop the only island in the Lake, was built in 1929 as part of Lora Knight's Vikingsholm Estate. The way to get to this magical spot is via generous and wonderful boat owning friends (thank you awesome Bob and Jenny).

The day ended back on their deck with dinner, wine and stories of how we all met. It was enchanting. We are the luckiest people to be surrounded by such special friends.
