Next stop was San Juan, a place we were eager to return to. We were here 27 years ago on our honeymoon.

Puerto Rico’s geographic position at the western edge of the Caribbean made San Juan one of the key frontier outposts of Spain’s West Indies dominions.
Our goal, after a walking tour, was to learn about the San Juan National Historic Site which includes Castillo San Cristóbal and Castillo San Felipe del Morro.
