Sunsets & Bats...

We ended our day at Taylor Creek Amphitheater for the last of the Friday night presentations and a stunning Tahoe Sunset. It was mesmerizing as the colors changed.

After the sun finally disappeared, we were completely entertained by Corky Quirk's Bat Talk: Winged Flight at Night. She brought several bats and explained their differences and importance. We learned so much. It was extra special when during her presentation, several bats flew about and she had an amplification system so we could hear their echolocation sounds. Wow.
NorCalBats is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of bats throughout Northern California. In addition, they are committed to public education regarding the environmental benefits of bats and dispelling fears and myths that lead to the death of roosts and colonies. Boy, that was accomplished tonight. Everyone walking back to their cars kept proclaiming, "I love Bats!" This was an excellent conclusion to this summer series.
