Pints & Paddles...

Ike and Martin were voted Best Band for 2013.  We have seen them perform and have wanted to hear them ever since.

Pints & Paddles was the absolute ideal way to get our fix.

None of us had been on this cruise before and were totally up for anything!
Every cruise demands a photo with the Captain.  Right?
It has been almost twenty years since Steve and I boarded this 520-passenger, award-winning M.S. Dixie II paddle wheeler. It is the largest cruising vessel in South Lake Tahoe, and a local favorite. Considered one of South Lake Tahoe’s most entertaining and affordable water activities, the M.S. Dixie II has been voted “Best Cruise in Nevada” by Nevada Magazine.

Bob and I went to the top deck to watch the full moon rise.  Jenny was home with a cold so this photo session was for her.  It was breathtaking, with Jupiter visible, too.  Wow.

The setting was intimate.  The music was incredible.  The night was perfect.  This talented duo knows how to keep their audience happy.  How can you not love a group that takes requests, on demand.  Blondie's Heart of Glass was the first song and they turned it from disco to bluegrass to the delight of us all.  Truly fantastic talent.

While this photo is far from my best, I loved looking out the ship's window and seeing the full moon illuminating the Lake.  Then to see Ike and Martin in the reflection, it seemed to sum up the magic.
This night is one that truly makes me love Tahoe.  I'm so afraid of singing its praises because it will catch on and continue to sell out and I won't be able to get tickets.  That said, this is on my top ten list of AWESOME TAHOE HAPPENINGS.  A must, truly.  I can't wait for Wednesdays!
